Introduction to Solar Box Cookers

Solar box cookers are the be-all and end-all when it comes to harnessing the sun to cook food. They run solely on the sun’s rays which makes them the ideal cooking solution for many areas where electricity and fuel aren’t options. They’re also wonderful for outdoor cooking because they pose little risk of forest fire and are much lighter than hauling fuel around in your backpack.

Use damp washcloths instead. You can even prepare these ahead of time to be ready for the end of the meal. When you’re done, just add them to your laundry load.

In addition, don’t use paper towels to wipe up small spills of liquids, or to wipe your hands, and so on. Instead, keep some cloths handy. Dampen them, clean up what needs to be cleaned up, and then place them on a rack so they can dry and be used again.
